- 01Pilates is suitable for everyone. All movements can be adapted to make it work for your body. It doesn't matter whether you are a complete beginner or have had years of experience our classes are for you.
- 02Yes we have different classes for different levels of ability and experience. If Reformer is your thing start your journey at the beginning in our Reformer Prep class and build up to Reformer Progression when you're ready. If you already have that solid foundation then jump straight into our Reformer Progression class, where there will be harder sequences, additional props and more challenging exercises. Our Mat classes are mixed abilities but all teachers can provide modifications and progressions. You choose the class that's the best fit.
- 03Classes will run with a 15 minute gap in-between each one at peak times. Please don't arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the start time just to allow the class before to exit the studio. For privacy, the main door will be locked until a class ends.
- 04This answer to this question is different for everyone as all our bodies are unique. As a rule of thumb we would advise 2 - 3 classes a week to see a real benefit to your physical and mental health. Everyone has busy lives so just do what you can and what works for your lifestyle. Don't put pressure on yourself as every little counts!
- 05Yes we provide both 1:1 or 1:2 Reformer and Mat classes. We will have a quick call prior to your first 1:1 session to run through some brief questions. These questions will just give us a better picture of your goals, inspirations and general fitness background. We can discuss any previous or current niggles or injuries and I can answer any questions you have prior to our session. This means we can tailor a 1:1 class that specific to you and your body. Please get in touch by email or any of our social channels and we can find a time to suit and get you booked in.
- 06We provide all the equipment for the classes which is cleaned on a regular basis. The props we provide are of very high quality, but If you would prefer to bring your own then please do. We want you to feel comfortable. A bottle of water would be advised to stay hydrated, especially on those hot days. We only have a small studio so please don't bring lots of bags or larger items so we all have enough room to move freely and safely. Grip socks are essential during class mainly for safety but also hygiene purposes. You can bring your own or we do sell a small selection at the studio. We will have a coat rack for those colder days and chairs to change from outdoor footwear.
- 07Wear what you usually wear to exercise in. We want you to feel comfortable when you move and not restricted by your clothing. Tighter clothing especially around your upper body always makes it easier for us to make any adjustments to your form and alignment if needed. The studio is a safe with no judgment of different bodies and shapes. Wear what works for you.
- 08Currently we don't offer specific pre or post natal Pilates classes. We don't advise you to attend when pregnant or until you've been cleared by your Doctor to exercise postnatally.
- 09We can't wait to see you back at the studio once your baby has arrived. Please return to classes when you have been cleared to exercise following your post natal check up with your Doctor.
- 10No absolutely not, men are more than welcome at the studio! Pilates is really beneficial for men, improving flexibility, posture, balance and strength to name a few. Men often find it aids and improves other sporting interests they have. Give it a try and see for yourself.
- 11All injuries are unique and differ in their severity. We can adapt movements and provide alternative to suit your body, but we aren't Doctors. Do let us know prior to a class if you feel your injury or ailment may impact your flow. Pop to have a quiet chat or speak out in front of the class, whatever feels most comfortable. Please listen to your body though and know your limits. We want your experience to always be a safe and positive one!
